Highlights From the 50th Year Celebration ~ Jessica Mehringer and the Octagon Club

The Octagon Club presented information about our programs Recess Buddies, Reading Day, Kicks for Kids participation and our new Helping Hands program during the Optimist Club of Jasper’s 50th Year Celebration, help on January 10th. Jessica Mehringer, Octagon Sponsor, outlined the new helping hands program as a program built with dues funds that enables our club to help their peers.  Two programs are anonymous and are financially helping other students at the high school.  One other program is a spirit wear give back - that will have Seniors giving back their spirit wear that we can store and get to students that need spirit wear items.  After the program, we had a member donate money and another member donate shirts to the give back.  Thank you very much to those kind individuals.  If others are interested in donating to the Helping Hands Octagon Program, please reach out to Jessica Mehringer at 812-630-9565 or jmehringer@gjcs.k12.in.us.  Octagon members also got the opportunity to talk about the programs they enjoy the most and impact it has made on them.
