Optimist Club of Jasper High School Youth of the Month - March 2025

The Optimist Club of Jasper Youth of the Month is a monthly recognition program for students in Jasper Middle and High Schools, recognizing students from each school, for their positive outlook and contribution to the community.

The High School Optimist Youth of the Month for March is Carson Powell.  Carson is the son of Kevin and Melanie Powell.  He is a Junior at Jasper High School.

Carson is very active at Jasper High School.  He is a member of the JHS Swim Team and is a representative on the JHS Student Council.  He serves on the Jasper Mayor’s Youth Council.  He is also a member of Sadd, Octagon Club, Key Club, and FFA.  He would like to attend Purdue University for Horticultural Science.

The teacher that nominated Carson stated that he “is an integral member of the Octagon Club and has always gone above and beyond with the activities and his role as an officer in the club!  Carson is a great example of all that the Optimist Club stands for.  He is kind, he lifts up people around him and always has a positive attitude!’
