Optimist Club of Jasper - Mental Attitude Award

The Optimist Club of Jasper Mental Attitude Award is given at the conclusion of the youth sports programs in our community.
The award was started to recognize young athletes in our community for being great teammates, sportsmen, and showing a love for the game.
The award for youth softball is given in the 12u age group known as Major League.

Each coach was asked to nominate a player and give a description of why they nominated her. After nominations, coaches, vote for who they think best represents this award. The mental attitude award is given to a player that enjoys the sport, is a good sportsman, a great teammate. And most of all has a positive attitude.

Here are the nominees, and what their coaches had to say about them:

🥎 Bandits: Landry Lueken
Landry always shows up ready to play. She is always cheering for her teammates & is very coachable. She is able & willing to play any position that is asked of her & it has been a joy to have her on our team!

🥎 Storm: Madison Walton
Regardless, if we are winning or losing, she does a great job of staying positive and engaged in the game as well keeping others positive around her. I have had to move her around to multiple positions on the field and she's always responded well to the adjustments. I feel like her positive attitude has helped her grow a lot this year and she is also my most improved player from day 1 to now.

🥎 Intimidators: Izzy Doty
Izzy showed up to every practice and game ready to play and learn. She was vocal and encouraging to her teammates. We loved having her on our team!

🥎 Predators: Allison Cruz.
She is always cheerful and bringing energy to our team. She always engages with the girls and the coaches, and she always tries to implement what the coaches are asking her to do. She is also willing to play any position that will help the team. She is always a joy to be around and to coach.

🥎 Renegades: Aubrey Neuhoff
Aubrey has caught all but a few innings this season and her improvement is a reason our team has been successful. Catching in this league is not easy, and her toughness (mental and physical) has helped get her - and our team - through situations when things haven't been going our way. She's a fun kid to coach because she competes while having fun. We'd take her on our team any time.
