Optimist Club of Jasper Middle School Youth of the Month - January 2023

The Optimist Club of Jasper Youth of the Month is a monthly recognition program for students in Jasper Middle and High Schools, recognizing students from each school, for their positive outlook and contribution to the community.

The middle school winner for January was Kate Werner. Kate is an 8th grader at Jasper Middle School and is the daughter of Audrey and Kyle Werner. Kate is a member of the JMS soccer, dance, and track teams. She also participates in ISFC travel soccer, Wyldlife, JMS ROOS (Respecting Ourselves and Other Students), and is a member of Saint Joseph Church. Kate hopes to be a Nurse Practitioner. The teacher that nominated Kate stated “She is a gem. She works so hard. She knows who she is and what she needs to do to be successful. She gets the most out of what she has. Smiles all the time. She is a model student. Works incredibly hard, cares about her education, is a kind individual, trustworthy, etc... I could go on for days about how great Kate is.”
