Optimist Club of Jasper Middle School Youth of the Month - February 2024

The Optimist Club of Jasper Youth of the Month is a monthly recognition program for students in Jasper Middle and High Schools, recognizing students from each school, for their positive outlook and contribution to the community.

The Middle School Optimist Youth of the Month for February is Katelyn Young.  Katelyn is the daughter of Kelly and Derrick Young.  She is an 8th grader at Jasper Middle School.  Katelyn is a member of the JMS Basketball, Volleyball, and Softball teams.  She has been a member of JMS ROOS and was elected as a Student Council Representative.  She has also participated in Wyldlife during middle school.  Katelyn enjoys going on vacations, spending time with family and friends, and playing sports.  Katelyn hopes to be a pediatric surgeon in the future. The teacher that nominated Katelyn stated that she is a “super sweet young lady.  Katelyn wants to do well.  She gets everything out of what she has.  Respectful, hard worker, participates in class...big leader.”
