Optimist Club of Jasper Youth of the Month - October 2023

The Optimist Club of Jasper Youth of the Month is a monthly recognition program for students in Jasper Middle and High Schools, recognizing students from each school, for their positive outlook and contribution to the community.

The Middle School Optimist Youth of the Month for October is Cooper Vollmer.  Cooper is the son of Reyne and Scott Vollmer.  He is an 8th grader at JMS.  He participates on the JMS Spell Bowl team and likes to read.  Social Studies is his favorite subject in school because he likes learning about history.  He likes being outside, where he is usually riding his bike.  Cooper would like to go to college to be an auto mechanic or an educator. 

The teacher that nominated Cooper stated that he is “a fantastic student to have.  He wants to learn and he wants to do what is expected.  He pushes himself and provides a great role model to others!  We need to clone him and encourage him to take more and more leadership in the grade.”
